Wayne Blackburn Consultant Clinical Psychologist Wayne is a grounded and highly experienced Clinical Psychologist who has worked with many diverse groups in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific. Wayne’s mahi is adults over 18 years. His focus is to work collaboratively and professionally, drawing on a variety of effective approaches that consider biological, psychological, cultural and social aspects of wellbeing and recovery, to reduce stress, make sense of experience, improve relationships and find a way through challenging times. Wayne has specialist experience in anxiety, depression and mood problems, phobias, dependency and behavioural excess, stressful life events, employee assistance, workplace health and burnout, emotional dysregulation, trauma and PTSD, psychosis, and self-identity. Wayne has a keen interest in mental wellbeing, and all of his clients appreciate his gentle and supportive nature. Wayne also has significant experience in working with migrants and refugees. Wayne believes we are all human, resilient and can productively adapt to change. He applies an integrated perspective that draws on a variety of evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), interpersonal approaches, and brief and solution-focused therapies and mindfulness. He will work with you to develop an individualised plan that best fits your needs and situation. Wayne works online and is available for consultations from across New Zealand.
