Biography

Ria is a Counselling Psychologist. She takes a no-bullshit approach to therapy, and will help you to grow thicker, better skin so you won't need to be in therapy all your life. While she won't judge you, she will take your problem seriously and tell you things things you likely haven't noticed and might need to hear. She understands that while life can be messy and tough, you probably have more control over your situation, mood and future than you thought. Ria has worked in DHBs, forensic settings, schools and community mental health clinics on issues of depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, sexual abuse, workplace and relationship difficulties. She has a special interest in healthy relationships and self-growth. Ria has also worked with adolescents and children, but is working primarily with adults. She is an ACC-registered therapist.
