Parewahaika Harris

Kia ora! Ko Parewahaika Harris tōku ingoa. He mokopuna ahau nō Te Arawa/Ngāti Whakaue (Rotorua), nō Ngāti Raukawa ki te tonga (Otaki) hoki. First and foremost, I'm a proud wahine Māori, born and raised in the beautiful Rotorua-nui-ā-Kahumatamomoe. I grew up immersed in Te Ao Māori (Te Reo, Tikanga, Kapa Haka) and to this day am very passionate about working with whānau Māori accessing mental health support services. I'm a Registered Clinical Psychologist based in Rotorua and have been working alongside whāiora (people seeking support services) for 7 years. My mahi to date has been in the field of Corrections (individual assessment & therapy, higher order report writing, group based therapy, supervision, training delivery, and cultural supervision), Community Mental Health (mild-moderate mental health, youth-adult, pain management, Oranga Tamariki, Te Maioha, QE Health, I AM HOPE), and most recently ACC Sensitive Claims (sexual abuse trauma).
