Biography

Arts therapy uses a range of creative processes within therapy to support expression, connection and individual meaning-making as tools for healing. I will support you to trust your own creative process, allowing a space for self-expression, reflection and curiosity. I draw from a range of therapeutic models to suit individual needs and offer creative prompts which integrate visual and sensory processes, play, story telling, mindfulness, talking, writing and movement. By engaging in a multi-layered creative process, you can learn new things about yourself and gain new perspectives, promoting growth and change. You don’t have to be ‘good at art’ to engage with arts therapy. Arts therapy focuses on what you learn, notice and sense within the process of creating which facilitates communication and the direction of your therapeutic support. I am passionate about supporting clients to connect to there own inner resources within a trauma-informed, creative, compassionate and warm approach. I have experience working with community mental health sectors, intellectual disabilities, dementia-care, palliative care, corrections, group therapy and individual therapy with children, adolescents, adults and elderly. Based on the Coromandel Peninsula - I currently between Thames & Whitianga.
