Kia ora I’m Mikayla, My counselling philosophy is to provide you with a safe & supportive environment to unpack and uncover emotions, thoughts or experiences in your life and provide you with skills to empower you to support your wellbeing. I have completed a Diploma of Health Psychology and a Bachelor in Counselling and Addictions Practice. I have now started postgraduate study in trauma due to my own lived experience and seeing the need for support in this area with the people I work with. I have experience working with people of all ages but in particular specialise in working with youth, young adults and women. I have worked in acute mental health wards, on the phones as a telehealth counsellor, in an addictions and mental health service and as a school counsellor.
