My career within has primarily been working within kaupapa Māori organisations (as a non Maori), where I have gained understandings within a Te Ao Māori world view, as well as having worked within a Whānau Ora framework. My success in supporting people in our bicultural country (both Maori and Non-Maori staff), helps positive engagements and healthy outcomes for all. I bring a combination of experience working within Mental Health and Addictions, community case management, dementia care, gender diversity and the LGBTQ+ community, Domestic Violence, the education sector, family issues and concerns…. as well as, engagement and outcomes, and ethical or challenging issues. This, combined with a willingness to learn and remain open to changing contexts helps me to best engage and support staff and organisations. Through reflection, narratives and strength based solutions, I facilitate a process to support people through a collaborative and trusting relationship, to find solutions or outcomes to issues or challenges. As we develop a professional relationship, I will help: · Find support in challenging situations · Identify risk, and support to eliminate or reduce · Grow · Restore personal wellbeing · Positive communication skills (with family, friends colleagues/managers) · Develop resilience and strengthen personal capacity · Find insight, understanding and creativity in your work with others . Find the best of you
