As a mother, step mother and grandparent of a large family, I have much life experience. After the loss of my teenage son I had to cope with single parenting and self employment. I find working with children very rewarding. Supporting the parents or caregiver can make such a difference. With many children being in blended families, I like to focus on how each family member connects. Whether it's the adult or the child, each one of us needs to feel 'seen' and appreciated to thrive and grow. A family cannot function when one person is hurting. Working with children can inform us of ways to view things differently , allowing for compromise and for each family member to give voice to their needs, thus avoiding conflict. My work with adults is to provide the support that enables awareness of how issues that are causing anxiety might be better managed and to offer up ways of living a fuller more purposeful life. My clients (adults and children) appear to gain more insight into their lives, their triggers and how to manage better when they have engaged with Sandplay therapy or Dreamwork interpretation, offering opportunity for a new sense of freedom and joy.
