Lindsay has been a full-time counsellor since 1998 and in private practice since February of 2019. He undertakes Sensitive Claims work for ACC along with alcohol and drug, anger management, depression, anxiety and general counselling. He predominately works with adults of age 18 and above and is comfortable counselling people from all socio-economic groups. His work experience led to more than 50% of his clients being Maori so he is at ease working with our indigenous people. Lindsay’ counselling approach is one of actively listening to his clients while identifying issues to discuss and possibly put some emphasis on. He takes an interest in your thoughts and beliefs and how they influence your decisions and life outcomes. Communication with others can be complicated by perceptions and triggers so he helps the client understand what may be happening when an incident occurs. Lindsay has worked in the AOD field for organisations that include the Salvation Army, CareNZ, MidCentral Health and Prison Fellowship NZ and Family Violence with Te Manawa Family Services.,
