Joss Phiskie and Lois Cowan will be co-facilitating a Peer Support Group for doctors on Tuesday 7.30pm-9pm. The Facilitated Peer Support Groups are designed to offer doctors support via their peers, with the facilitators there to allow the group to work well together. These groups are designed for personal and professional support and development rather than as mental health treatment or diagnosis. At this stage, these peer support groups are only eligible for NZ medical doctors. Facilitator Joss Bio: Joss Phiskie, Registered Psychotherapist, Psychodramist in private Practice, EAP provider, therapist for Victim support. She has had training in group work, supervision and Acceptance & commitment therapy. Has facilitated a variety of groups. Sees the value of group work and has been Barlint group member for a number of years. Facilitator Lois Bio: Lois Cowan RPN, MHealSc., Dip Tching. (tert), Dip Couns. Senior Lecturer Nursing. Her areas of speciality are mental health and addiction. She has had training in group work, supervision, a range of therapeutic modalities and has completed a Diploma in counselling. Having taken on the role of facilitator for a variety of groups, she recognises the value, effectiveness and potential benefits from participating in facilitated groups with a particular purpose.
