Psychotherapy provides individuals with an opportunity to talk through their problems within the context of a safe and therapeutic relationship. Psychotherapy is fundamentally about change – the aim is for clients to achieve greater insight, gain fresh perspective, become more informed and feel empowered to pursue a life that is meaningful to them. Psychotherapy involves clients learning new ways to relate to challenging thoughts and feelings and explore and understand some of their behaviours better. I work with my clients in a collaborative and supportive way and utilise a number of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Sandtray Therapy. I have many years experience working in adult mental health, child and youth services and private practice. I have experience working with trauma and clients with complex presentations and am ACC Sensitive Claims Registered.
