I have over 25 years experience of working with children, young people and their families in a variety of settings, which include both public mental health and private practice in both the UK and New Zealand. My specialism is in Play Therapy, parent-child attachment relationships and trauma recovery. I have provided therapeutic services to children and their families affected by domestic violence, trauma including sexual abuse, adoption and self-harm. In my work with children and their families, I offer a child- centred and psychodynamic approach through the use of play. I work from strength based practice which I see as being vital to building a positive and affirming working relationship with my clients. I have developed a strong interest in parent –child attachment relationships and over the past 6 years have provided infant- parent (0-5yrs) psychotherapy both in a residential and community setting. I am a member of IMHAANZ (Infant Mental Health Association Aotearoa NZ) and have extended my interest and expertise in Infant mental Health by pursuing further post –graduate studies in Perinatal, Infant mental health and Parent- Infant Psychotherapy My goal is to facilitate a safe space where children and their parents can find resolution, healing and recovery.
