Grant Wattie is a certified professional counsellor, relationship transformation specialist, and author based in Havelock North, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. With over twenty years of direct practice and more than 10,000 sessions, Grant and his wife Christine have helped over 5,000 couples — in crisis, drifting, and everywhere in between — find their way back to each other. Grant is co-creator with Christine of the Aroha Rapid Transformation Method, a framework developed through their own marriage crisis and refined through thousands of hours of real-world practice. The method works at the level of being, not just behaviour. When the context shifts, the patterns that have been running for years dissolve on their own. That's why the results tend to be faster and more durable than what traditional counselling approaches produce. Grant works with couples in person at the Wattie practice in Havelock North and online with couples across New Zealand including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and beyond. He also works with executives, business owners, and leaders navigating burnout, leadership transitions, and relational breakdown at home. Grant is the co-author of Love Without Limits (2024), The Audition for men suffering from burnout, identity and mid-life issues and co-creator of The Phoenix Protocol, a crisis intervention program for couples on the brink of separation. He and Christine have been married for over forty years. SPECIALISATIONS Couples therapy and marriage counselling Relationship crisis intervention Affair recovery and betrayal Marriage intensives and rapid transformation Leadership and executive mentoring Individual work — identity, purpose, second half of life Online counselling across New Zealand APPROACH Most approaches to couples therapy work at the level of behaviour — better communication, conflict tools, new scripts for difficult conversations. Those things have their place. What Grant and Christine have found, working with thousands of couples, is that lasting change happens at a deeper level: who you're being with each other, not just what you're doing. That shift - from doing to being- is what the Aroha Rapid Transformation Method addresses. It works faster because it goes to the source of the pattern, not the surface of the problem.
