
Fia Turner is Samoan, who speaks fluent Samoan. Her passion for the health and wellbeing of the people led her to a career-path in psychological counselling where she worked in the development, management and provision of counselling services in the community. She graduated with a Bachelor of Counselling and Master's degree with honours. Has broad experience working in prisons for many years as a Counsellor and as a Clinical manager for Drug Treatment Unit. A full member of NZAC, since 2005. Has been and is a member of local, regional and national Advisory Groups and Board of Trustees for NGOs and Government organisations. As a Senior Academic Research Lecturer , she taught the Bachelor of Counselling programme for many years, which she also helped with its development. Currently, she operates her Private practice, providing counselling, supervision, training and mediation. She provides general counselling for young people, adults and their families.
