Psychologist

Charlotte Lawson 🌈 (she/her), Psychologist - MA(Psych), PGDipPsychPrac, MNZPsS, MNZSIGN Please note, I am available for in-person appointments Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in Freeman's Bay, Auckland, and telehealth appointments on Wednesdays. I frequently have availability within 1-2 week timeframes, but am not able to show my immediate availability on Clearhead. Please get in touch to request an appointment. Services offered: Supervision for people leaders, equipping you with the tools to effectively address workplace challenges, nurture your team, and navigate difficult situations. Build strong, effective relationships within your team towards a more engaged and motivated workforce, while maintaining your own wellbeing. Individual therapy for all ages, specialising in parenting with mental health challenges, adjustment to ADHD diagnosis, recovery from trauma and/or injury, anxiety, stress and burnout. ▪ Strengths-based, trauma-sensitive, person-centered and holistic approach. ▪ Specialised in working with adjustment diagnosis, such as ADHD, and recovery from trauma and/or injury, to help you find a way to move forward in a hopeful, values-aligned way. ▪ Specialised in supporting parents with mental health difficulties, to balance being a loving and effective parent, while caring for your own wellbeing. ▪ Specialised in working alongside those whose whānau (family) member is navigating mental health challenges - this may be your parent, child, sibling, or friend. This can feel taboo and mean that those in supportive and caregiving roles carry a lot of emotion, pain, and stress and it can feel like there is nowhere for you to express this. I provide a space for you to explore how you are coping, and what the challenges experienced by your loved one have meant for you. ▪ I work within an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) frame, facilitating self-awareness, self-compassion, and growth with a focus on your strengths. I incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and person-centered therapies. Experience: ▪ Eight years’ experience in mental health and wellbeing settings, including in leadership, consulting, training, and supervisory roles, working in multidisciplinary teams, and providing assessment and therapy in community settings. ▪ Consultation with Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland on supporting families within the mental health services. ▪ Consultation and presenting within Clearhead, including writing and running webinars for organisations such as Whitecliffe College and Colliers International, developing wellbeing resources, and providing evidence-based recommendations for building psychologically safe workplace cultures.
