Biography

Charlotte Lawson, Psychologist - PGDipPsychPrac MNZPsS MNZSIGN Services offered: Workplace wellbeing consultancy: ▪ Supervision for people leaders: Equipping you with the tools to effectively address workplace challenges, nurture your team, and navigate difficult situations. Support to build strong, effective relationships within your team towards a more engaged and motivated workforce, while maintaining your own wellbeing. Individual therapy for all ages: ▪ Strengths-based, person-centered approach. ▪ Specialised in working alongside those whose whānau (family) member is navigating mental health challenges - this may be your parent, child, sibling, or friend. This can feel taboo and mean that those in supportive and caregiving roles carry a lot of emotion, pain, and stress and it can feel like there is nowhere for you to express this. I provide a space for you to explore how you are coping, and what the challenges experienced by your loved one have meant for you. ▪ Specialised in supporting parents who experience mental health challenges, to balance being a loving and effective parent, while caring for your own wellbeing. ▪ Support adjusting to injury or diagnosis, such as ADHD, to help you find a way to move forward in a hopeful, values-aligned way. ▪ I work within an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) frame, facilitating self-awareness and personal growth with a focus on your personal strengths and self-compassion, while incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and person-centred therapies. Experience: ▪ Six years’ experience in mental health and wellbeing settings, including in leadership, consulting, training, and supervisory roles, working in multidisciplinary teams, and providing therapy in community settings. ▪ Mahi with parents and youth navigating complex and acute familial mental health amd neurodevelopmental challenges. ▪ Volunteered with Youthline as a supervisor and facilitator. ▪ Consulted with Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland on supporting families within the mental health services. ▪ I have provided psychological consultation within Clearhead, including writing and running webinars for organisations such as Whitecliffe College and Colliers International, developing wellbeing resources, and providing evidence-based recommendations for building psychologically safe workplace cultures. You can view my blog posts here: https://www.myclearhead.com/blog/author/char/ ▪ Currently working three days providing rehabilitative therapy for people following brain injury. I am committed to ongoing professional development and access regular supervision with senior clinical and neuropsychologists to ensure that I am offering you the best support, based on up-to-date psychological knowledge.
