Kia ora, I’m a registered counselling psychologist, with many decades' experience. I help women in midlife and beyond navigate health and wellbeing challenges, so that they can live with vitality and purpose - even in the midst of all that life and aging can bring. As well as the traditional 50 minutes, I offer 30 minute sessions - ideal when you would like focused and practical support with navigating, for example, sleep, emotional eating, stress, diabetes, increasing physical activity or self-care. You might also find the shorter appointments work well if you have attention difficulties, chronic pain or grief; or if you just want to check in or refresh a skill. My approach is warm, open and action-oriented. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), non-diet psychology, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and fACT, a powerful and focused form of ACT. Feel free to send me a message and we can find a time to talk about whether this work is a good fit for you. If it turns out it's not, I’ll help you find an alternative. I see clients for in-person therapy in New Plymouth, and via phone or secure video.
