Biography

Kia ora, my name is Caoimhe (pronounced Kwee-va) and I am a registered Clinical Psychologist based in Wellington. I am from Ireland originally, and moved to Aotearoa New Zealand a few years ago. I enjoy working with teenagers and adults in my private practice, and I have a particular interest in trauma, anxiety, and attachment and relational difficulties. I have over seven years' clinical experience working with children, teens, and adults in community mental health and inpatient services in both Ireland and New Zealand. I draw on different evidence-based therapies to meet individual needs and preferences. These include Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, CBT, and DBT skills. I take a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach, drawing on clients' strengths to facilitate change and growth. I prioritise creating a safe and inclusive therapeutic space. Please feel free to reach out to me by email ([email protected]) with any questions you may have or to find out more about my approach.
