Allison is an experienced and highly skilled psychologist who worked in public and private mental healthcare settings including primary health organization, employee assistance programme, domestic abuse, and ACC sensitive claim services in addition to the national telehealth service in mental health and addictions and a specialist private mental health clinic over the past decade. Allison works with adults aged 18+ and draws on a range of evidence-based therapy models to inform her psychological practice. She supported individuals to cope with a wide range of presenting difficulties including mental distress, attachment difficulties, addiction, physical ailments, workplace and relationship difficulties, family and sexual harm, and other adjustment, stress, and trauma effects. Allison believes in person-centred care and works in collaboration with her clients to promote and maintain wellness which include increasing symptom management, reducing disability and distress, addressing underlying difficulties, maximizing self-care, developing coping skills, strengthening protective factors, and improving quality of life. Allison acknowledges the need to identify therapy targets quickly to alleviate distress and the importance of the therapeutic relationship built on understanding, warmth, and trust.
