Specialised support for
ADHD, Life Changes, Trauma

Often the people I work with look like they are managing on the outside, but internally feel exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious or as though they are holding everything together by sheer effort. You might recognise patterns of anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing or perfectionism. There may be a tendency to overfunction in relationships while neglecting your own needs. There can also be a persistent sense of self-doubt, fear of rejection or feeling like you are somehow different or do not quite fit in. Over time, this can lead to burnout, emotional exhaustion and a sense of being disconnected from yourself. For many people, these experiences are linked to earlier relational patterns. This can include growing up with emotionally immature, critical or emotionally unavailable caregivers, or experiencing emotional neglect or trauma. These early attachment experiences can shape how safe you feel in relationships, how you respond to stress and how you relate to your own emotions. I work with adults experiencing trauma and complex trauma, attachment difficulties, ADHD, burnout, anxiety and relationship difficulties, alongside questions around identity, meaning and spirituality. My approach is client-centred and trauma-informed, drawing on process-oriented and relational psychotherapy. EMDR may be used where appropriate to support processing of traumatic or emotionally charged memories in a structured, carefully paced way, helping to reduce the emotional intensity linked to past experiences over time. In our work together, we focus on what is happening in the present moment – your emotions, body responses, thoughts and relational patterns. This includes noticing patterns such as anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, difficulty with boundaries and heightened sensitivity in relationships. Rather than trying to fix these experiences quickly, we explore them as meaningful information that can help us understand what is happening beneath the surface and how it connects to your history and current life. Over time, this work can support a more stable and integrated sense of self. Patterns such as people-pleasing, perfectionism and chronic self-criticism often begin to soften. Change tends to feel less forced and more like a gradual shift into greater steadiness, clarity and a more grounded relationship with yourself and others.
