I consider it my task as a counsellor and psychotherapist not to instruct people on who or how they should be, but rather to help them discover who they are. A life-long task, but the more we know of who we are, the more comfortable and at ease we feel in ourselves. That in turn leads us to be more open and confident with others and to enjoy a richer relational life.
