Biography

Margaret is a Registered Psychologist with extensive clinical experience in a wide variety of mental health presentations. Margaret works with both adolescent and adult clients to manage a comprehensive range of symptoms and conditions including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, psychosis, complex trauma, personality disorders, addiction and substance abuse, emotional and behavioural problems, suicidality and self-harming behaviours. Other areas of expertise include providing care to women who experience Domestic and Family Violence, parenting difficulties and perinatal mental health concerns. Throughout her career spanning the public and private sectors, Margaret has worked in residential and non-residential settings in the fields of mental health and addiction and has provided both individual and group therapy to clients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Margaret has worked closely with many public and private mental health support services, and she enjoys applying her skills in community mental health to the Clinical Mental Health Assessments and Management Plans she offers her clients. This unique and specialised service helps other health care providers to effectively manage patients with mental health presentations and facilitates patient access to valuable community-based support services. Margaret’s experience enables her to specialise in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. She has a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach and is passionate about assisting her clients in gaining insight into their difficulties and helping them develop practical skills that enable them to live fulfilling lives.
