Michael is one of those people who makes you feel welcome, he's warm, funny and incredibly smart. He's the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Clearhead and is a critical part of our team. He answered a few questions so we could all get to know him a bit better...

  1. Name: Michael Connolly
  2. Clearhead title: CTO and Co-Founder
  3. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?

It really depends on the amount, if I won 25 dollars I would probably buy another lotto ticket. If I won 25 million dollars then I would buy a lifestyle block in the outskirts of Auckland with a large greenhouse, an overpriced car, invest a bunch more in some boring things, and then start a foundation to provide people in need with free therapy via Clearhead.

  1. If you could have dinner with three people, alive or dead, who would they be?

My Grandfather, My Grandmother, and my father.

But if they were busy that day I would try Alan Rickman, Leonard Nemoy, and Patrick Stewart.

  1. If you could live anywhere, where would you live and why?:

The outskirts of Auckland in a lifestyle block so I could have room to have a massive garden but still be close enough to my family. But ultimately, I don’t care where I live as long as it’s close to my family and friends.

  1. What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

Treat others how you would want to be treated, and don’t worry about what other people think, just do what's right.

  1. When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be an entomologist, and my parents deserve a huge amount of credit for putting up with it. I constantly kept various insects as “pets” growing up.

  1. If you were a crayon, which colour would you be?:

Probably light blue but I’ve never imaged myself as a crayon before.
